Here is the full schedule of events for this one-day festival:
- We're stoked about tomorrow's Armitage Arts Festival, which kicks off at the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (1-3 p.m.), moves to Mozart Park (3-6 p.m.), then to Weegee's Lounge (6-8 p.m.), and finishes up at Rosa's Lounge (8 p.m.-2:30 a.m.). Live blues and jazz, poetry readings, painting in performance, a zine-making workshop, an art installation, flag-making with native dyes, and a capoeira demonstration are some of the things you can experience at the festival. Hope to see you at the fest!
- The fall term for the Chicago Heroes & Arts Journeys workshop series at Mozart Park resumes in a few weeks. You're invited to register for the upcoming term. Join us as we continue with this series' music making, creative writing, visual art making, and presentations and conversations about Chicago's history and identity.
- The 2014 Chicago Calling Arts Festival begins on September 26th, including Myth/Science Dubcology at the Experimental Sound Studio, a concert at the Haitian American Museum of Chicago, a Banned Books Week event at City Lit Books, an interfaith concert at the Baha'i Temple, a performance event at SRBCC, and more.
